A good day

No school today, that's right! Yesterday was a bit depressing, but I'm too far to feel that now. Tomorrow I have only one subject in the afternoon. Hence I can relax today, and just do my assignment tomorrow morning.

It's raining, but I can go to the mall with my friend, and I will be safe from the rain. I just got a new umbrella, but I bought it to use against the sun when I go to school. It is not designed to be used against rain, because I forgot that summer is already over, and now it is rainy season already.

Anyway, I'm going to get ready soon. The mall is open now since it is already 11:20am. I'm going to eat, then sit on one of the huge rocks inside the mall. I might stay there until the mall closing time. So, that's it. Have a blessed day to all!

Out with friends

Hello there! I just got back from exploring the city, I'm thanking my new found friends for taking me with them today. These ladies work as lady guards here at Robinsons mall for quite a while now. They are renting a room the same place as mine. It's their day off today, that's why they went out. I was with them the whole time. We went to the mall. And we got to visit some local shopping centers as well here in Tacloban.

578 is a shopping center where you can buy stuff in affordable price. Well, some of the stuff there is also expensive, but not any signatures one. You should always compare the prices with the Robinson mall. Brand clothes should better be bought in the Robinson mall, because expensive brand clothes last longer than the copy clothes in the local shopping mall. Yeah, that's what I know. But, it is really fun to look around through all the cheap stuff from the local shopping center.

Happy day

Good morning to all! Here I am outside my place enjoying the sun. I bet there is no rain coming up today. I hope this beautiful weather stays like this for the rest of the day. Everybody will be happy for this weather change, and so am I.

I am not going to spoil the day. Soon I will get ready, then go out look for food. In two hours the mall will be open. I am not that broke this time. I think I will watch a movie. I just got my salary. It makes me happy somehow when I don't feel so poor, it's good I have some penny with me, and I can enjoy myself, treat myself to some thing that my money can afford to pay.

I am not someone who's good at keeping money for a very long time. I tried to save money, but I got disappointed, because it's never going to work with me. My tactics doesn't work the way I wanted it to.

At the mall

I am here at the mall now, sitting on this huge rock, watching all these people walk by. Some are with their friends, some groups are with school uniforms; maybe they just got out from school. I am actually the only one sitting here without someone with me. I feel kind of lonely. How I wish I was with my friends or family at this time!

Oh, well, soon I will get up, and try to get some food. That's why I am in the mall. I kind of want chicken for my dinner. Since it is still early to eat dinner, I am just going to take out my food, then eat it at my place. I am not thinking of shop anything else today in the mall. It's not what I planned, and besides I would only be sad if I see something I like in a store, and not getting it. When I have money, I sometimes shop for clothes, but I barely do it. I have enough jeans that could last for a long time. Now it is time to go for dinner. Have a great day to all of you!

What to do on a rainy day

Today is not a good day to roam around the city. It’s been raining ever since I got here; 3 days in a row now. It's hard to find something to do when you cannot go outside without getting wet.

Anyway, my suggestion is this: instead of being stuck in the house, I think the better place to visit is the mall. If you are living in the city, I am sure malls do exist there. Even without money, a mall is always fun to go to, since there is so much to see. It is better than to bore yourself at home. So, that’s what I want to do today, I have laundry to take care of but, I can’t just wash my clothes now with all this raining, since I don’t have a dryer, and I cannot hang the clothes in the rain to get dry. I will just wait for a nice day for that. Instead, I go to the mall and do some window shopping (that is, not buying anything). Now I will get ready, and go out.

New Cabinet For TV

I just got us a new divider cabinet. I have never purchased furniture before. This is my first time, and I didn't pay all cash. The payment plan is 500 Peso every 15 days for six months. So it costs me 6000 Peso. This plan may look expensive but if I'm able to pay the whole amount earlier than the due date then I will get a refund. The divider looks nice, and the TV has been placed very well.

The reason why I got interested to get this divider is because we don't have a cabinet for the TV, and I don't need to pay the whole amount right away. I cannot bay 6000 Peso at once, but 1000 Peso a month is not bad. I think I can make that. This is going to be my responsibility for six months. I hope everything goes well because I don't want to get into trouble with the seller if I can no longer pay. By the way, I like the divider so much, I can stare at it for hours and just smile. LOL! My auntie will be surprised when she sees the new stuff in the house.

iPhone craziness

Alright, it is September, for sure millions or even billions of people are waiting for the release of the new iPhone this year. Every year, there are at least two iPhones released. An iPhone costs so much money and is only going to be last for a year, until crazy people buy the next one, since they always want the newest. When Apple releases a new model, the previous iPhone model will be nothing worth anymore compared to the new ones.

All this is ok for rich people who can afford it. They do not care how much money they can spend for upgrading their phones. But there are also people who aren't rich but always upgrade their phones. They are most often not even using their phone, at least not the full power of the phone. It is a status symbol for them, as they feel richer as they really are. And they love that.

Is it necessary to change your phone every year? Look what you do with the phone: a few phone calls, a little bit phone text, maybe 2-3 apps, that's it. I don't think changing the phone every year is necessary, if your previous phone is still in good condition. Why not use the amount of the money that you're going to spend on the new iPhone in a small business? It is better than wasting money every year on a new iPhone.

Sick in the mall

I got sick. I caught a cold. I went out to buy some food in the mall. My plan was to buy food, tissues, and medicine for cold and then come back to my place. But I ended up watching a movie anyway. Which I didn't planned. After the movie I headed to the supermarket to get foods and then to the pharmacy after. So I've decided to go back to my place because I thought I have everything I needed but then I forgot about the tissue. And it is too late to buy it now, and also I am tired.

Oh well, I will get some tissues tomorrow but I hope this medicine will help. So I won't be wiping my nose anymore. It is just getting red and started to get swollen. I hate having cold, this ain't fun. I hope this will be gone soon.

But next time I will have to mark my word. Not to mix everything up, so that I don't forgot what I've came for.

Power down

Today I had two subjects only. I was in school around 11:00am to 2:30pm. After school, I grabbed something to eat and went to Robinson. I looked around for about an hour, until I got bored and decided to go home. It took me five minutes to get home by walking from Robinson mall. Now I'm home sweating all over, because the electricity is down. If I only knew there is no electricity, I would have stayed in Robinson. Air-conditioned everywhere and lots of stuff to see.

Power down is my main problem in this boarding house. It happens sometimes. Whenever the power is down, there is too much heat in my room, I am sweating, and I feel like I am being grilled. Too hot, gives me headache. I'm expecting the power comeback around 5-6pm. I'll probably sweat more until the power gets back. No WiFi for me because it's dead too.

Marquee Mall and Gift Certificates

Today I went to the Marquee Mall near by my place to check if the gift certificate sent to me would work. I have this PHP 1000 gift certificate for Gerry's grill. That's where we went in first. I asked one of the staffs if they allow those in their restaurant. She didn't know and went to ask the manager. She came back and told me: "Yes Ma'am we're accepting the certificate. You may order now!" I had these Pork Sinigang and it was so good, while my friend got herself Lumpia Shanghai which was also really good. We had swamp cabbage and ice cream for desert. Wow, I can say Gerry's grill has a lot of good foods.

After we're done eating I asked my friend to accompany me to the supermearket and to go to customer service and ask if they are accepting Sodexo Premium Pass but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't work in Marquee Mall. I wanted to get groceries there and I don't have to spend money transporting to SM Mall but it was too bad that it didn't worked out there. Anyway SM Hypermarket does, just not in Marquee Mall. So next time I know where to go for groceries using Sodexo.

Gift passes and tickets

So yesterday I had these Sodexo premium passes worth PHP 1500, and PHP 1000 worth of Jollibee tickets and 5 cinema movie cards. It was my first time to received gifts like those. So yesterday I asked a longtime friend of mine to accompany me to SM mall, I treated her to watch the DeadPool movie with me, and we ate in Jollibee. Those gift tickets went well. I was amazed! So after movie and eating, we headed to the hypermarket to try the Sodexo Premium Pass. First I asked the costumer service if those passes would work to make sure it wouldn't bring me in trouble if ever. So we went inside the hypermarket and shopped for foods, etc and consumed all the PHP 1500. At the counter, when paying with the pass, I was kind of nervous even though I already knew at the beginning it would work. And guess what? I worked like a charm, and I was able to buy all groceries without spending any cash money. That's how I learned how to use those tickets and passes. LOL!

Samsung vs iPhone

The iPhone is for rich people only! Why am I saying this? It's because an iPhone is really expensive at first, and then you have to pay most of the better apps. The only thing I like about the iPhone is the camera which is really good for selfies and video chat. When I had no iPhone I really wanted an iPhone because I thought it is way better than any other brand. But I was wrong. Now I have an iPhone but I'm not very happy with this phone because I couldn't download some apps that I liked because I have to pay for it. Most of the best apps aren't free at all. Maybe I had too high expectations, but I feel a bit disappointed from the iPhone.

Before the iPhone, I had a Samsung Galaxy phone, which is a different system called "Android". In Android, most interesting apps are free to download. The camera was good too but not as good as the iPhone camera, but in general the Samsung phone was great. I was attempted to get a Samsung 6 Edge but I was so curious about the iPhone, so instead of Samsung I choose the iPhone 6. I didn't know at the end I would be disappointed. Next time when I can choose a better cell phone, I would choose Samsung. 

Cellphones and crushes

My first cell phone was a Nokia 1100. My cousin gave it to me. I remember when I received that cell phone I was really happy because it gave me the opportunity to text to my crush at that time. But I used it only a couple of months, then somebody stole it from me. Years passed before I got a new one again. This time, it was my mom who bought me the cell phone, again a Nokia but I've forgotten what model it was. Happy again to text to my new crush, and then it was again stolen. Life repeats!

The third phone I got for myself was when I worked as a maid and I bought it myself. It was a Cherry Mobile phone and did cost only 800 Peso. My 4th cell phone was a LG brand. It was my ex boyfriend who bought it for me. That was 3 years ago. The 5th cell phone I've got was way better than all those olds phones I had first. It was a Samsung Galaxy Mega and it cost me almost 15K. When I bought the Samsung, I gave the LG phone to my cousin. Last but not the least is the iPhone 6. This is my current phone. It was just a gift from a friend. An iPhone is super expensive, and I wouldn't buy this phone myself. But I'm glad to have this phone, and at least I wasn't the one who spent so much money just have an iPhone.

Self control when window shopping

One of my friends asked me earlier to come with her to SM Mall as she was getting something for her niece so I did go with her. While we were walking around and passed by a shoe store, some pretty shoes caught my eyes. I tried them on. I'd really like to have them but I couldn't, for financial reasons. I was disappointed but at the same a bit happy because I got to try them how they look on me.

Similar situations happened to me many times. One time I was with my cousins Bryan and Venus. We went to MAO (Mall of Asia) for a window shopping when I suddenly saw a tank top in a boutique. I'd really like to get that yet I didn't have enough money with me. My cousins noticed that I was so excited about that tank top. Next time I went out with my cousins they teased me all the time by telling me to stop looking in any store when I don't have money. It was kind of funny with them. Well it's not new to me when I don't have enough money and see items that catch my eyes. I get too excited and can be disappointed at the same time but I always make sure I get over it in just a days. If you cannot handle such situations, you better not to go to the mall even when your friends ask you to accompany them!

Jeans

Some people from my facebook page have been asking me through messages why I always wear jeans all of the time. The reason why I always wear jeans in most photos or whenever I'm going out with friends is because I don't have skirts or shorts to wear. I don't have them simply because I don't even want to try to buy those kind of clothes. I am not comfortable to wear that kind of outfit, and I don't want to waste my money on clothes unless I am perfectly comfortable with the clothes.

I love jeans because you can always wear them everywhere anytime. Jeans are universal clothes. Everytime I plan to shop whenever I have extra money I always go for jeans. Unlike skirts or shorts, buying jeans is a safe bet for me. It could never be a waste of money. Maybe if I have skirts, I could wear them at home but not in public outside. That is my fashion style. Just be wise when buying items: make sure it's useful to you!
